The President Mrs Pratibha Devisingh Patil has approved the nomination of Mr. K Parasaran and Prof. Mrinal Miri as Members of Rajya Sabha. According to an official release, Mr Parasaran has been appointed for a term of six years from the date of notification to be issued by the Government. Mr Parasaran was the Attorney General of India.

While Prof. Mrinal Miri has been appointed to the vacancy caused due to the premature demise of Dr. Ram Dayal . His tenure will be upto 21st of March2016. Prof. Miri is a noted philosopher and educationist.
