The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Ms. Jayalalithaa has said that preventive steps to curb Dengue have been taken at the District Government hospitals and Primary Health Centres.In a press release on Monday, the Chief Minister said that the State Government had stepped up precautionary measures by fogging and cleaning up open areas.She said that 800 camps have been conducted throughout the State.Underlining the need for increase in awareness at grass root levels,the Chief Minister has ordered District authorities to identify areaswhich are prone to the disease and instructions have been issued toauthorities to report on the situation where more than three peopleare suffering from fever.Ms. Jayalalithaa said that approximately 400 people have been curedfrom Dengue and fifty nine persons are under treatment.The State Government has allocated more than 2 crores for mosquitoeradication program.
