President's rule has been imposed in Jharkhand. Home ministry sources confirmed that Mrs.Pratibha Devisingh Patil gave assent to the union cabinet's reccommendation to this effect.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that the state Assembly, however, has been kept in suspended animation.<br/>
