NDA's presidential nominee Ram Nath Kovind is campaigning in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana today. Mr Kovind, who reached Hyderabad this morning, held separate meetings with MPs and MLAs of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), Telugu Desam Party (TDP), BJP, and YSR Congress. Along with Union Ministers M Venkaiah Naidu and Bandaru Dattatreya, Mr Kovind also attended the luncheon meeting organised by TRS. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that recalling that erstwhile Presidents of the country, Dr Neelam Sanjiv Reddy, Jakir Hussain, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam were associated with Hyderabad, Ramnath Kovind affirmed that the office of the President is the most revered office of the country. He assured that he would raise above caste, creed, language and region and work for the al-round development of the nation. <br/><br/>Recalling that he worked above politics as Governor of Bihar, Kovind assured that he would continue it even after getting elected as President. Kovind also asserted that he would strive for fulfilling the targets set by the Prime Minister for the year 2022 when the country celebrates the 75th year of Independence. He said it is not the ideology but the capacity of the candidate which is the criteria for presidential polls.<br/><br/>Mr Kovind is scheduled to hold a meeting with MPs and MLAs of the BJP and TDP in Vijayawada this evening.

Mr Kovind, who reached Hyderabad this morning, is currently holding separate meetings with MPs and MLAs of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), Telugu Desam Party (TDP), BJP, and YSR Congress. <br/><br/>In addition to BJP and NDA ally TDP, TRS and YSR Congress have already pledged support to Mr Kovind in the presidential polls.<br/><br/>As part of his campaigning, Mr Kovind is scheduled to take part in a luncheon meeting with Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhara Rao. Later, Mr Kovind will leave for Vijayawada to meet the public representatives of BJP and TDP.
