President and Vice President greeted people on the eve of Buddha Purnima. In his message, President Pranab Mukherjee said, the message of love, compassion, non-violence and equality preached by Lord Buddha has an ageless significance. He said, let Buddha Purnima be an occasion for all of us to reiterate our belief in Ahimsa and Karuna. Buddha Purnima marks the birthday of Lord Buddha. Vice President Hamid Ansari, in his message said, Lord Buddha's message of peace, truth and compassion continues to guide humanity towards eradicating human suffering and miseries. He urged people to commit themselves to follow the principles of universal love, compassion and tolerance shown by Lord Buddha. Buddha Purnima marks the birthday of Lord Buddha.
