President, Vice President and Prime Minister have condoled the death of Dr. Syed Ahmed, Governor of Manipur. President Pranab Mukherjee said that Dr. Syed Ahmed served the nation with distinction in different capacities during his public life. He also said,his services to the nation as the Governor of Jharkhand and Manipur will be always remembered. <br/><br/>Vice President Mohd.Hamid Ansari recalled Syed Ahmed's long and distinguished public service saying he was a leading figure of Maharashtra's political firmament and his departure leaves a large void. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, he is saddened by the demise of Manipur Governor.He said, Syed Ahmed was an experienced leader who held many positions in his long political career.<br/><br/>Congress President Sonia Gandhi has also condoled the passing away of Dr Syed Ahmed. Recalling his long innings in public life, Mrs Gandhi said, he will be missed by the people for a long time to come.
