The President, the Vice-President and the Prime-Minister have greeted the nation on Raksha Bandhan to be celebrated on Tuesday. Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil in her message said that the festival is symbolic of the bonds of love, affection and mutual trust which have existed for centuries between sisters and brothers of every community. Mr. Mohammad Hamid Ansari said that the Festival of Rakshabandhan reinforces the spirit of family bonding, societal harmony and peaceful coexistence.Dr. Manmohan Singh called for renewing the efforts to ensure the dignity of women and to promote peace and harmony in society.
