President, Vice president and Prime Minister today greeted the nation on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan which will be celebrated tomorrow. The President Pranab Mukherjee in his message has said that Raksha Bandhan is the celebration of the unique relationship that exists between brothers and sisters and hoped that the spirit of this festival would strengthen fraternal feelings in the society and remind people of the importance of unity and harmony.

The Vice President Hamid Ansari called on the people to follow the ideals associated with this festival to promote the spirit of amity, harmony and goodwill in their lives.

In a message, the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh said that Raksha Bandhan is a festival celebrated to strengthen the bonds of love and affection in family and society. He said that poeple should use this occasion to promote peace, harmony and brotherhood in the country.
