Deepawali, the festival of lights will be celebrated across the country tomorrow. The national capital is fully decked up to celebrate the festival. People in large numbers were seen thronging to shops to buy candles, lamps and gifts for their near and dear ones this evening. <br/><br/>Authorities have urged the people to celebrate Diwali in a safe and pollution-free manner. Delhi Police has beefed up security at public places in the national capital. <br/>'<br/>President and Vice President have extended their greetings to the countrymen on the eve of Deepawali. In his message, President Ram Nath Kovind said the festival of Deepawali celebrates the victory of light over darkness, goodness over evil and justice over injustice. <br/><br/>On the occasion, Mr Kovind appealed to the people to initiate efforts towards illuminating the lives of all with joy and prosperity and spreading the light of love and fraternity. He also urged the people to take a resolve to celebrate Deepawali in a clean and pollution free manner as well as build a healthy, prosperous and sensitive nation and society. He called on people to share the happiness with the needy.<br/> '<br/>In his message, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu said that Deepawali signifies the victory of good over evil and encourages us to emulate the noble and virtuous qualities of Lord Rama. He wished that the festival will light up our lives and usher in peace, prosperity and happiness.<br/>'<br/>Kali puja will also be celebrated tomorrow in several states including West Bengal, Odisha, Tripura, Bihar and Jharkhand.<br/>
