President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice-President Hamid Ansari and Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat Samadhi this morning on the occasion of his Martyrdom Day. Union Ministers Manohar Parrikar, Venkaiah Naidu, Mahesh Sharma and the three service Chiefs among others laid wreaths at the memorial. <br/><br/>Earlier, in a series of tweets, the Prime Minister also paid tributes to those who sacrificed their lives for the nation on the occasion of Martyrs Day. Mr Modi urged the nation to stand together for two minutes at 11 AM as a mark of respect towards the martyrs. Earlier, Home Ministry had issued a directive that silence should be observed at work and all movement must be stopped throughout the country during the two minutes.
