President Pratibha Devisingh Patil has appealed to the people to resolve to eschew hatred and violence from their thoughts on the occasion of the martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur on Thursday.

In her message, Mrs. Patil said that we should follow his teachings of love, harmony and compassion and his supreme sacrifice in the cause of secularism and all-round progress of the country.
