President Mrs Pratibha Devi Singh Patil was given a grand ceremonial reception by President of Cyprus Mr Demetris Christofias at his Palace in Nicosia today. Mrs Patil inspected guard of Honour. She laid wreath on the Statue of first President of Cyprus Archbishop Makarios. Both the leaders discussed bilateral issues for further strengthening cooperation and collaboration between the two countries. Later in the day she will visit House of Representatives and lay floral tributes at the Statue of Mahatma Gandhi. The bust of Mahatma Gandhi was installed near House of Representatives in 1972 on the occasion of visit of the then President of India Sh V V Giri.
