President to embark on state visit to Jordan, Palestine & Israel

President Pranab Mukherjee will embark on a state visit to Jordan, Palestine and Israel on Saturday. He will be accompanied by a high level delegation which includes Union Minister of Social Justice and empowerment Thawar Chand Gehlot and six Members of Parliament. <br/><br/>Senior representatives of educational institutions will also accompany Mr Mukherjee. The visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations with the respective states and to improve Cultural and Academic ties. During his visit, Mr Mukherjee will also address the Senate in Jordan and the Israeli Parliament, the Knesset.<br/><br/><br/>This is the first ever state visit by an Indian President to these countries. The Indian President will reach Ramalla in Palestine on 12th October and will proceed to Jerusalem, Israel on 13th October. Mr. Mukherjee will hold talks with King Abdullah – II ibn Al Hussein of Jordan, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
