President stresses on prudent fiscal management, peaceful industrial climate

The President Pranab Mukherjee has laid stress on prudent fiscal management and a sound and peaceful industrial climate for business and growth to flourish. Addressing the third Bengal Global Business Summit at the Milan Mela Prangon in Kolkata today, Mr. Mukherjee stated that it is the duty of all Indians to strive for cooperative federalism to ensure that Indian cannot just sustain but also increase the rate of its GDP growth. <br/><br/>The President laid stress on the fact that development and growth in one state or region of the country should not be seen as isolated growth but should be taken as a part of overall growth of India. Praising the efforts of the present state government to attract more investment from every possible corner, Mr. Mukherjee said that the present efforts of the state should be continued and enhanced. <br/><br/> He also praised the fact that West Bengal has been seeing a spurt of growth in the infrastructure sector with new roads, bridges, flyovers and industrial infrastructure. <br/><br/>In her speech, the West Bengal Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee expressed hope that all delegates of the 29 participating countries will find some sectors of the economy to invest in. She welcomed all guests of the business delegation and highlighted the achievements of her government in the last six years in trying to attract investments in West Bengal.
