President Pratibha Devisingh Patil has stressed the need for betterment of women and farmers for economic and social equality in the country. Addressing women and farmer’s rally at Indapur near Pune today, President called for change in the attitude towards women. President has unveiled the statue of former MP and state minister late Shankarrao Patil who has achieved remarkable progress of the small local farmers through a cooperative sugar factory in the area. President also attended centenary concluding function of Bharat Itihas Sanshodhan Mandal. This is a prime institution in the field of research in Maratha history.
