President Ram Nath Kovind visited Sri Sharada Peetha in Sringeri in Karnataka today on the last leg of his three-day visit of the state. He was accompanied by the Governor of Karnataka Thawarchand Gehlot. After an overnight stay in Mangaluru, the President left for Sringeri this morning.<br />''<br />''The Social Welfare and Backward Classes Minister Kota Srinivas Pujari, Mangaluru Mayor Hemanand Shetty and Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajendra bid farewell to the President on Mangaluru helipad.<br />''<br />''In the afternoon, Mr Kovind reached Sringeri and visited Sri Sharada Peetha established by Adi Shankaracharya, the 8th Century proponent of Advaita philosophy. He offered prayers at the abode of Goddess Sharadadevi. The President met Jagadguru Sri Bharathi Theertha Mahaswamiji and Jagadguru Sri Vidhushekhara Bharati Mahaswamiji.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Later, the President also visited Shankara Adwaitha Shodha Kendra in Narasimha Vana. The Research Centre takes up scientific study and analyses the Advaita System of thoughts as expounded by Adi Shankara.</span><br />
