President Ram Nath Kovind visited Lingdum monastery in Ranka on Friday as part of his two-day visit to Sikkim beginning today. He was accompanied by Sikkim governor Ganga Prasad.<br />'' <br />'' The President was received and welcomed at the monastery by Garwang Rinpoche and Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, among others.<br />'' <br />'' Mr Kovind was given a traditional welcome by monks of the Lingdum monastery through the display of Singhi and Mask dances. The President offered prayers at the monastery and interacted with monks.<br />'' <br />'' Mr Kovind had reached Gangtok earlier today on a two-day visit to the Himalayan state.<br />'' <br />'' He is scheduled to attend the Sikkim University's convocation ceremony tomorrow.<br />''
