Sathasivam and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will participate in the function. The President will leave for New Delhi in the afternoon.

President Ram Nath Kovind launches technocity project in Kerala

President Ram Nath Kovind launched the Technocity project in Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala today. <br/><br/>President, who is on a 2-day visit to the state, also laid the foundation stone of the first government building in the Technocity in Pallipuram. <br/><br/>Speaking at the function, President said that the Technocity project which is part of the fourth phase of Technopark is one of the iconic information facilities not only in Kerala but across the country. <br/><br/>He further said that Kerala being one of the most connected states with the highest rate of mobile penetration and literacy rate will be able to reach full digital connectivity aimed by the project soon. <br/><br/>The President said that Kerala's strengths in basic literacy and skills – and the experience of Kerala's people in the services sector and in consumer-driven industries make this state a natural for an IT ecosystem. <br/><br/>He further said that the future of our economy and of our employment creation is heavily dependent on the success we achieve with Digital India.<br/><br/>Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that technocity project is expected to be completed by 2019.

Speaking at the function, President said that the Technocity project will be a milestone with the iconic technological facility not only in Kerala but also across the country.<br/><br/> He further said that Kerala being one of the most connected states with the highest rate of mobile penetration and literacy rate, will able to reach full digital connectivity aimed by the project soon. <br/><br/>Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that technocity project is expected to be finished by 2019. The function was attended by Governor P Sathasivam, State Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran, Sampath MP among others.
