The President Mrs. Pratibha Devi Singh Patil presided over the Birth Centenary celebrations of Kavivar Gopal Singh Nepali at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday. Poems and songs based on the impotance of human values scripted by the eminent Hindi poet and lyricist of Bollywood was rendered on the ocassion. Gopal Singh Nepali who lived from 1911 to 1963 wrote 450 songs in 45 films. The films he wrote for include Mazdoor, Sufar, Leela, Begum, Shikari and Nayee Rahein. During the Sino-Indian war of 1962, the Kavivar Gopal Singh Nepali had travelled through out India inspiring the country men and youth with his songs, to unite and defend the country.
