President Pranab Mukherjee today presented Gallantry Awards and Distinguished Service Decorations to Defence personnel at a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan. <br/><br/>Constable Gautam Koch of Assam Armed Branch who made supreme sacrifice fighting UPLA insurgents in Assam's Difu was awarded Kirti Chakra posthumously. Naib Subedar Rajesh Kumar Singh who made supreme sacrifice while fighting terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir was awarded Kirti Chakra posthumously. <br/><br/>Head constable Rajesh Atra of Special Task Force, Chhattisgarh who showed exemplary leadership fighting left wing extremist and Lieutenant Colonel Nectar Sanjenbam who showed conspicuous gallantry fighting insurgents in Manipur were also given Kirti Chakra. <br/><br/>Havildar Man Bahadur Chettri of Assam Rifles who made supreme sacrifice fighting PLA insurgents in Ukhrul in Manipur was awarded Shaurya Chakra posthumously. Colonel Santosh Mahadik of Parachute Regiment, Sepoy Dharma Ram of Mahar Regiment and Constable Rocky of Border Security Force were given Shaurya Chakra posthumously for their supreme sacrifice fighting militants in Jammu and Kashmir. <br/><br/>Major Varun Kumar Singh, Major Sandip Yadav, Major Anurag Kumar and Major Tanuj Grover who displayed exemplary leadership and courage while fighting and eliminating terrorist in Jammu and Kashmir were also given Shaurya Chakra. <br/><br/>Civilian Bikaramjeet and Rakesh Sharma who displayed bravery and apprehended a dreaded militant in Jammu and Kashmir were also awarded Shaurya Chakra. <br/><br/>Thirteen personnel were awarded Param Vishisht Seva Medal and Twenty Five Personnel were awarded Ati Vishisht Seva Medal which included Director General of NCC Lieutenant General Aniruddha Chakravarty. Two personnel were given Uttam Yudh Seva Medal and Ati Vishist Seval Medal Bar. <br/><br/>Vice-President Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, Three services Chiefs were present in the ceremony.
