President Pranab Mukherjee was today presented the key of the City of Abidjan as a mark of respect for the deep friendship between India and Ivory coast. In a colourful event, marked by tribal and traditional festivity, Mr. Mukherjee, who is the first Indian President to visit the country, was also presented traditional headgear and tribal cloths. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent covering the President's visit reports that an honorary citizenship of the largest city of the African nation was also bestowed on him. Addressing on the occasion, Mr. Mukherjee said that Ivorian tradition was similar to India's age old philosophy of Vasudeva Kutumbhakam and the honorary citizenship is a valued symbol of the friendship of the people of the two countries.
