Eminent theatre personality Zohra Sehgal, historian professor Bipin Chandra, musician Illyaraja, India's first formula one race driver Narain Karthikeyan,film stars Rekha, Saif Ali Khan and Olympic boxer Vijender Singh are among the 60 eminent personalities who were conferred with Padma Awards on Wednesday evening at a function by the President Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. <br/><br/>Eminent musician and mrudangam player Dr. Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman, former Reserve Bank governor Dr. Y.V Reddy and veteran theatre personality Zohra Sehgal were conferred the prestigious Padma Vibhushan awards. The President also presented nineteen Padma Bhushan awards, prominent among those were painter Akhbar Padamsee, educationist Anil Bordia, performing artist Dr. Mallika Sarabhai, hotelier Sant Singh Chatwal and sarangi player Ustad Sultan Khan.<br/><br/>Thirty eight Padma Shri awards were also presented. Prominent among them are famous liver transplant surgeon of Ganga Ram Hospital Dr. A.S Soin industrialist Deepak Purie, anti-terrorism activist Ghulam Mohammad Mir,film actors Rekha and Saif Ali Khan, cricket coach R.V Achrekar, Formula One racer Narain Karthikeyan, scientist Dr. V.P Dimri and boxer Vijender Singh.<br/>
