The President Mrs Pratibha Devisingh Patil will visit Laos and Cambodia on a state visit from Thursday. The visit is aimed at reaffirming India’s pursuit of a closer and continuing partnership with the countries of ASEAN region as part of the Look East policy. The President will hold discussions with her Laos counterpart Choummaly Sayasone and Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh during her 5-day visit to Laos, an official release said. Along with an official delegation, she will visit Laos Capital Vientiane and also travel to Luang Prabang. After Laos, the President will visit Cambodia from 13th of this month at the invitation of Cambodia King, Norodom Sihamoni. Besides the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh, the President will be travelling to Siem Reap where the world famous temples of Angkor Wat are located.
