The mortal remains of Suvra Mukherjee, wife of President Pranab Mukherjee, who passed away yesterday were consigned to flames today. The funeral took place at the Lodhi Road crematorium in New Delhi. President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Veteran BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani were among others present during the last rites. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina who specially came to Delhi to pay her last respects also attended the funeral.
