President Pranab Mukherjee underlines the need for developing new export markets to achieve higher growth

The President Pranab Mukherjee has underlined the need to maintain the focus of country's trade policy on developing new export markets to achieve higher growth. Addressing the gathering after giving away 13th Niryat Shree and Niryat Bandhu awards of the Federation of Indian Export Organisations in New Delhi on Friday, Mr Mukherjee said, export growth prospects are considerably better in the emerging and developing countries than in the developed economies.

The President said, quality consciousness, service delivery and complete transparency are the key to form a good image of the country. He expressed confidence that India's Economic growth rate will bounce back as its foundation is strong.

Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma said that despite challenges such as euro zone crisis and rising cost of petroleum products, the current projection of export is expected to be 3.5 per cent. He said, FDI in multi brand will create infrastructure and jobs in rural areas and will give relief to consumers.
