President Pranab Mukherjee addresses Israeli parliament Knesset

President Pranab Mukherjee has said that India's consistent policy had been to build a strong, substantive and mutually beneficial relationship with Israel. Addressing the Israeli parliament Knesset, he said that India appreciates Israel's support to India's bid for a permanent seat in the United Nations security council. On the issue of conflicts, he said that there is no other option to resolve conflicts other than negotiation and peaceful settlement.<br/><br/>Earlier, after a ceremonial reception at the president house, Mr. Mukherjee said that India is disturbed at the recent incidents of violence. Condemning all forms of violence, he said that India has always sought a peaceful resolution of disputes. The two sides also signed agreements on double taxation avoidance and cultural exchange. Later in the evening, the two countries will sign agreements in academic field. President will be hosted by his Israeli counterpart on a state banquet tonight.
