President Pranab Mukherjee today led the nation in paying homage to architect of the Indian Constitution, Dr. BR Ambedkar, on his 60th Mahaparinirvan Diwas or death anniversary . <br/><br/>Mr Mukherjee offered floral tributes at the statue of Dr Ambedkar in Parliament House complex in New Delhi. Vice President Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Minority Affairs Minister Najma Heptulla, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot, Senior BJP leader LK Advani, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi and other dignitaries also offered tributes to the Dr Ambedkar. The function began with a prayer by Buddhist monks. <br/> <br/>Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a commemorative coins on Dr. Ambedkar in a function at his residence.<br/>A booklet on Dr. Ambedkar will also be released by Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya. Many functions are being organised across the country to mark the day.
