The President Mrs Pratibha Devi Singh Patil and Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh have greeted the nation on the occassion of Janmashtami to be celebrated tomorrow. In her message, Mrs Patil expressed hope that the festival will inspire people to strive for amity and unity with each other. Dr Singh, in his message, said that Janmashtmi celebrates the life and teachings of Lord Krishna like discipline, knowledge and selfless action. He wished that the festival will provide inspiration to move towards the goal of banishing ignorance and poverty through education.
