The President and the Prime Minister have greeted the nation on the auspicious occasion of Durga Puja and Dussehra. In a message, the Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh said the celebration of Vijayadashami in different parts of the country is a symbol of India's tradition of communal togetherness and unity in diversity. Wishing happiness and prosperity to the countrymen, the Prime Minister said, the festivities reminds one of the eternal message of victory of good over evil and mark the hope of a bright future.President Pratibha Devisingh Patil said that the festival represents the triumph of Good over Evil. She said that the joyous festival heralds the spirit of peace, harmony and unity among the people and also inspires each one of us to work for the progress of the nation.
