President Ram Nath Kovind has extended his good wishes to all officers and men and women of the Indian Navy on the occasion of Navy Day. <br/><br/>In a tweet, Mr Kovind said, nation is proud of their commitment in protecting country's maritime frontiers, securing trade routes, and providing assistance in times of civil emergencies.<br/><br/>Prime Minister Narnedra Modi has said Indian Navy has shown its prowess on various occasions even after independence whether it was the liberation war of Goa or the Indo-Pak war of 1971. In a message, Mr Modi said, Indian Navy is not only responsible for the security of our seas but has also come forward and served the humanity in times of crisis. In a tweet, Mr Modi greeted all naval personnel and their families on the occasion. <br/><br/>In a tweet, Information and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani expressed her gratitude to country's sea warriors for protecting coastal borders and safeguarding the nation.<br/><br/>In his message, Navy Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba said that Indian Navy is engaged in ensuring maritine security of the country.
