President Patil reaches Beijing on her six day visit to China

The President Smt Pratibha Devi Singh Patil reached this evening at Beijing on her six days state tour to China. She was accorded a warm welcome at Beijing International Airport. <br/><br/>Assistant Foreign Minister of Peoples Republic of China Mr. Hu Zhengyue received her at airport. Other dignitaries including Indian Ambassador Dr S Jaishankar were also present at airport to receive her.<br/><br/>AIR correspondent covering President`s visit reports that elaborate security arrangements were made throughout the route from airport to hotel Raffles Beijing where Smt Patil is staying. Movement of vehicles was restricted and security personnel were deployed on the route.<br/><br/>Smt Patil will be given ceremonial reception tomorrow by her Chinese counterpart Mr. Hu Jintao at Eastern plaza. It is her maiden visit to China coincides with the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and China.<br/><br/>In first leg of her visit, the President will have extensive talks with Mr Hu Jintao on several bilateral issues. She will also meet other Chinese leaders including Chairman of the National People’s Congress Wu Bangguo and Premier Wen Jiabao in Beijing. <br/><br/>The President is accompanied by Minister of Food Processing Mr Subodh Kant Sahay and a business delegation.
