After completing a 9-day successful visit to the UAE and Syria, the President Pratibha Devisingh Patil is back home. AIR correspondent reports that addressing newspersons on board the special aircraft, the President said the leadership of both the UAE and Syria have strongly endorsed India's candidature for a permanent seat on an expanded UN Security Council. She said both the friendly countries have agreed to enhance strategic partnership with India in various areas including education, science and technology, agriculture and food processing, regional security, power, phosphates and in the information technology sectors.
