Iceland has sought to strengthen bilateral cooperation with India in the field of clean energy, Information Technology, Geo-thermal, oil exploration in the north east Atlantic including an study on glaciers in Iceland and Himalayan region.<br/> In an exclusive interview to All India Radio, the visiting President of Iceland Mr. Olafur Ragnar Grimsson said that his country has very good relations with India and this visit will further augment the process. <br/>The two countries will sign agreements relating to various areas of cooperation following summit level talks today. Mr. Olafur will be conferred upon the Jawaharlal Nehru Award for International Understanding-2007 today.<br/> During his stay in the national capital, he will hold talks with the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and meet other leaders, including those from the industry. He will also attend a number of events and visit the Jawaharlal Nehru University.<br/> Mr. Olafur was given a ceremonial reception at the fore court of Rastrapati Bhawan this morning with 21 gun salutes. He arrived in Mumbai on Monday and is on a six-day visit to the country. Mr Grimsson will leave for Bangalore on Friday and leave for his country on Sunday.
