The President has nominated five persons to the Rajya Sabha including eminent poet and lyricist, Javed Akhtar and former Union Minister, Mani Shankar Aiyyar. <br/><br/>The three others are Mrs. B. Jayashree, Dr. Balachandra Mungekar and Dr. Ram Dayal Munda. An official release said that this has been done to fill the vacancies caused due to the retirment of nominated members.<br/>
