President Murmu stresses high enrollment of girls in technical educational institutions

<span style="color: #222222;">The President Draupadi Murmu today stressed that the number of girls students should be in technical educational institutes to give more impetus to the progress of the country.<br />''<br />''She was addressing 52nd convocation and closing ceremony of centenary year celebrations of Punjab Engineering College in Chandigarh.<br />''The President urged students to never forget their duties towards the motherland as they are nation builders of future.<br />''<br />''Naming former chairman of ISRO Prof Satish Dhawan, eminent educationist and founder Director of IIT Delhi, Prof RN Dogra and missile technology and strategic systems expert Dr Satish Kumar the President said, she is happy to note that the Punjab Engineering College has provided many luminaries to the country.<br />''<br />''Noting the Kalpana Chawla Chair of Geospatial technology is established in the institute, President Draupadi Murmu Kalpana Chawla an alumni of PEC aeronautical engineering department became the first woman astronaut of Indian origin and created a history of sacrificing herself for science.<br />''<br />''The President hoped that the students who are entering the world of unlimited opportunities after completing their degrees, will use their knowledge and talent to serve the humanity.<br />''<br />''President awarded 669 B Tech and 168 M Tech and 34 PhD degrees to the students. Prior to the convocation ceremony the President inaugurated the newly constructed building of UT Chandigarh Secretariat.</span>
