President Pranab Mukherjee has condoled the passing away of former Governor of Assam and Jammu and Kashmir Lt. Gen. S.K. Sinha, PVSM. <br/><br/>In his message to his wife Mr Mukherjee said he was sad to learn about the passing away of Lt. Gen. Sinha. <br/><br/>Lt. Gen. Sinha had served in various senior positions in Defence Services including as Vice Chief of Army Staff. He was honoured with the Param Vishisht Seva Medal in 1973. Apart from serving as Governor of Assam and Jammu and Kashmir, he was also the Ambassador to Nepal. <br/><br/>President Mukherjee said, in his death the nation has lost an eminent personality whose services to the nation will always be remembered.
