The President Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil today laid the foundation stone for the development and expansion of the Jalgaon airport in Maharashtra. <br/><br/>Speaking on this occasion, the President said, Jalgaon is an important trade centre of north Maharashtra and hence the step is appreciated. She said that the development of the Jalgaon airport will lead to overall development in the region including development in agriculture, industrialisation, tourism and other sectors. <br/><br/>Mrs. Patil said it will also accelerate the expansion plans of existing industries in the region. Maharashtra Governor K Sankaranarayanan and Union Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel were also present on the occasion.
