After meeting teachers at Rashtrapati Bhawan who received National awards on the occasion of Teachers Day, President Ram Nath Kovind today said, teachers are the best nation builders. He said that a teacher should always be a learner.<br/><br/>Mr Kovind said, teachers have an important role in minimizing disparity between students. The President said, a teacher has a bigger responsibility than parents. <br/><br/>Earlier in the day, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu conferred National Award to Teachers at a function in New Delhi. The Vice President said, India has a great cultural educational heritage. Mr Naidu said, education is the most crucial foundation for nation building. He said, teachers should be given credit for country's development and shaping the future of children. <br/><br/>On the occasion, Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision is teach to transform, educate to empower and learn to lead. <br/><br/>The Vice President also launched DIKSHA protel, a National Digital Infrastructure for Teachers. It is a unique initiative which leverages existing highly scalable and flexible digital infrastructures, while keeping teachers at the center.
