President Ramnath Kovind has emphasized on the necessity of traditional education in the country. Delivering his address at the 66th Convocation Ceremony of Gujarat University in Ahmedabad, he said that country is developing along with preserving its rich traditions. Praising the unique tradition of education in Gujarat, President Ramnath Kovind expressed his happiness that girl students have outnumbered the boys in getting educational degrees. <br/><br/>Speaking on this occasion, Governor of Gujarat Om Prakash Kohli expressed his hope that India will become developed country in 21st century through education. He said that education will generate more employment in the country. AIR Ahmedabad correspondent reports that President Ramnath Kovind will also attend the convocation ceremony of MS University in Vadodara tomorrow. He will also participate in the 150th Anniversary celebration of Akshar Dery at Gondal Swaminarayan Temple. <br/><br/>It was the first instance that any President had grace the convocation ceremony of Gujarat University- founded in 1949. During this 66th Convocation Ceremony, more than 56 thousand students of 10 different streams had been awarded degree and diploma in the presence of President. <br/><br/>242 Gold medals also conferred to 135 students on this occasion. Ahmedabad's Shalu Raval remained the center of attraction for getting 10 gold medals. President Ramnath Kovind will also attend the convocation ceremony of MS University in Vadodara tomorrow. He will also participate in the 150th Anniversary celebration of Akshar Dery at Gondal Swaminarayan Temple before leaving for Delhi.
