<span style="color: #222222;">President Ram Nath Kovind has called for encouraging girls to study engineering and lamented less enrollment of girls in the institute. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He was addressing the convocation of NIT in Patna on Thursday. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The President said that none of India's developmental goals will have meaning without equal opportunities for our daughters and girl child. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said if gender disparity is not addressed, scientific achievement would be less than perfect and less than desirable. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Earlier in the day, Mr Kovind exhorted students to become an agent of change and contribute to the welfare of the farming community. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He was speaking at the first convocation of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University at Pusa in Samastipur. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Mr Kovind said students need to continuously innovate to help farmers increase productivity as there is a relative shortage of land and water resources in proportion to the country's population. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said Agriculture students must harness the unexplored potential that still exists in the farm sector. </span><br />''
