President hopes for error-proof dialogue mechanism with China

President Pranab Mukherjee has expressed hope that India and China will ensure an error-proof dialogue mechanism for maintaining peace and tranquility at the borders.

Mr. Mukherjee said, the two countries share a desire for early resolution of the outstanding issues, including the boundary question and both are also committed to the maintenance of peace and tranquility at the borders.

Hosting a banquet in honour of visiting Chinese President Xi Jinping last night, he said, the two countries should improve the dialogue and cooperative engagement between their armed forces and constantly strive to enhance communication between them at all levels.

Mr. Mukherjee said, India believes that the relationship between the two countries should evolve into a balanced and broad-based partnership and they remain sensitive to each other's concerns and aspirations for creating and sustaining a positive environment.

The President also called for re-doubling the efforts to address the trade deficit, provide better market access to each other's goods and explore the opportunities to create cooperation in the infrastructure sector.
