The President and Vice President have greeted the people on the eve of Diwali. In her message, Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil hoped the festival of lights will dispel darkness and gloom and bring joy, happiness and prosperity to the people.

In his message, Mohammad Hamid Ansari has said that Deepawali, the festival of lights, signifies the victory of good over evil and strengthens our resolve to follow true ethical values in our lives.
