President Pranab Mukherjee has greeted the nation on the occasion of Durga Puja. In his message, Mr Mukherjee said, the festival marks the victory of good over evil. He said, it is the celebration of Shakti and Bhakti and symbolises the inner struggle to rise to higher levels of consciousness. Mr Mukherjee expressed hope that may this festival strengthen bonds of brotherhood and may Goddess Durga shower her blessings on all the people for years to come.

Mr. Mukherjee is currently in Kirnahar, his ancestral home in West Bengal's Birbhum district, to perform Durga Puja.
