President felicitates 23 brave children

President Pratibha Devisingh Patil felicitated 23 children, the National Bravery Awards winner for the year 2010 in a function organised at Rashtrapati Bhawan today. Among 23 children, eight are from Northeastern States. Two awards will be given posthumously. The Awardees will participate in the Republic Day parade. 13 year old Km. Jismi P.M. of Kerala has been chosen for the prestigious Geeta Chopra Award who saved two children from drowning. Priyanshu Joshi of Uttarakhand has been selected for the Sanjay Chopra Award, who saved his sister from a leopard. Vishnudas of Kerala, Moonis Khan of Madhya Pradesh and Km. Ipi Basar of Arunachal Pradesh have been selected for the Bapu Gaidhani Awards. On this occasion, President of Indian Council for Child Welfare Ms Geeta Sidhartha said awardees will be granted financial assistance until they complete their schooling.
