President Smt Pratibha Patil narrowly escaped today at Bhubaneswar Airport when her MI-17 helicopter of IAF met with an accident. She was returning after having a darshan of Lord Jagannath at Puri. The President, her husband Mr. Devi Singh Sekhawat and family members were present inside the helicopter when the accident occurred. All of them escaped unhurt which could have been a disaster.<br/>The mishap occurred when three blades of the helicopter crashed with wall of a storeroom in the Airport. The blades have been damaged. The accident occurred as the President was about to wind up her maiden tour to Orissa. She would fly back to New Delhi tomorrow. IAF authorities are investigating into the accident.<br/><br/>IAF spokesperson T K Singha says IAF has ordered a Court of Inquiry into the incident at Bhuwaneshwar airport involving President Pratiba Patil's helicopter.
