President Droupadi Murmu says development of any society cannot be inclusive without development of women; attends 37th Statehood day of Arunachal Pradesh

<span style="color: #222222;">President Droupadi Murmu has said that the North Eastern states are playing a crucial role in giving a new direction to the development of the nation. The President said this while attending the 37th statehood day celebration of Arunachal Pradesh in Itanagar on Monday.<br />''<br />''She said that India is holding the G20 Presidency this year and expressed happiness that G20 meetings are also being held in the NE States. She said such meetings will boost the culture and tourism of the region.<br />''<br />''Speaking on women empowerment, the President said that without the development of women, a society cannot develop. She appreciated the people of Arunachal Pradesh for giving 47 percent women representation in the state Panchayati Raj. She also mentioned the name of mountaineer Anshu Jamsenpa and Nari Shakti Puraskar Awardee Tage Rita Take for their contribution in their field.<br />''<br />''The President said that the 21st century is the age of technology but we should move forward keeping in mind the idea of technology for social justice. She cited the example of the Arunachal government using drone technology in the field of horticulture, health and other sectors in the remote part of the state and termed it as technology for social impact.<br />''<br />''The President earlier laid foundation stones of two infrastructure projects including the 40 Kms Double Lane Road between Donyi Polo Airport & Naharlagun Railway Station. She also launched two animation films on Indigenous Folk Stories from Arunachal Pradesh.<br />''<br />''The President is on a two-day visit to the state. She will address the Members of the State Legislative Assembly during a Special Session of the House in the Assembly Hall on Tuesday.</span><br />
