President Pranab Mukherjee has dissolved the 15th Lok Sabha at the advice of the outgoing Union Cabinet.

Rashtrapati Bhavan Press Secretary Venu Rajamony said that the President accepted the advice and signed the Order dissolving the 15th Lok Sabha.

The outgoing Union Cabinet, in its last meeting had yesterday recommended to the President to dissolve the Lok Sabha with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission in submitted the list of newly elected members of the 16th Lok Sabha to the President.

The list containing the names of all 543 Members of Parliament was handed over to the President by the three-member EC team headed by Chief Election Commissioner V S Sampath.
