President condoles passing away of Former Army chief O P Malhotra

President Pranab Mukherjee has condoled the passing away of former Chief of the Army Staff General O. P. Malhotra. In his condolence message to his son, President said, I am sad to learn about the passing away of your father and his services to the nation will be always remembered. <br/><br/>The Chief of Army Staff General Dalbir Singh, has also expressed his deepest condolences towards this great loss. 13th Chief of Army Staff General Malhotra served the Indian Army with distinction for more than four decades. He was a distinguished public servant who made his mark as Chief of the Army Staff, Ambassador of India to Indonesia, Administrator of Chandigarh and Governor of Punjab. <br/><br/>For his outstanding services to the nation and the Indian Army, he was honoured with Param Vishist Seva Medal in 1976. General Malhotra passed away today morning due to old age at the age of 93 years at his residence in Gurgaon.
