President Pranab Mukherjee has expressed grief at the the loss of lives and damage to infrastructure in Chennai and several others parts of Tamil Nadu due to heavy rains. In a message to Tamil Nadu governor, Mr Mukherjee expressed confidence that the people of the state will overcome the tragedy with fortitude and dignity. <br/><br/>Extending his sympathy, he said he shared the grief of those who have lost their near and dear ones. The President also appreciated the efforts of the state government, NDRF, civil society organisations and rescue workers.
