The President Mrs. Pratibha Devi Singh Patil has called upon the Universities to assess the requirement of the job market well in advance and structure their courses in a manner that will help their students to get employment. Addressing the first convocation function of Maharaja Ganga Singh University of Bikaner in Rajasthan, the President said that higher education should also encourage our youth to set up their own enterprises.

Mrs. Patil said that interaction of the students of the Universities with local industry and socio economic organisations would be useful for acquiring an understanding about the sectors having growth potential. She said that students should also come forward to bring social change and also spend some time with local community to understand their problems. The Governor of Rajasthan, Mr. Shivraj Patil also addressed the function. Mrs. Patil also unveiled the statue of Mahraraja Ganga Singh in the university campus.
